Continuous and effective management

The person must be able to supervise the transport operation: vehicle maintenance, driver competence, defect reporting, hours and tachographs where applicable, loading, records and corrective action.

Working with the operator

Agree how often the TM attends, what systems they can access, who receives reports and how serious compliance concerns are escalated. A monthly report can be useful, but urgent risks require immediate attention.

What matching cannot guarantee

TM Match assesses potential suitability and helps parties begin due diligence. The operator contracts appropriately with the individual and applies for nomination; regulatory approval is a separate decision.

General guidance for Great Britain only, not a definitive decision for your circumstances. Refer to current GOV.UK goods-vehicle operator licensing guidance and Transport Manager guidance. Northern Ireland has a separate regulator and process.
