Get the right permission
The proposed legal licence holder needs appropriate documented authority to use the site. Check space for the requested vehicles and trailers, access, manoeuvring and realistic operating times.
Consider environmental and planning issues
Noise, vehicle movements, neighbours and access restrictions can be relevant. Planning and operator licensing are separate considerations. Obtain appropriate advice where needed.
Advertise accurately
For applications requiring a local newspaper notice, check the official wording, publication area and timing against the live application guidance. Inconsistent addresses or authorisation can force re-advertisement.
General guidance for Great Britain only, not a definitive decision for your circumstances. Refer to current GOV.UK goods-vehicle operator licensing guidance and Transport Manager guidance. Northern Ireland has a separate regulator and process.
